Project history
:
GARDIAN was created by the Big Data Platform as a key pillar in assisting CGIAR centres to comply with the CGIAR’s Open Access and Data Management (OADM) Policy (2013). The system, initially named CeRes (CGIAR e-Research), was developed to improve the openness of CGIAR research outputs, through its search capacity, and to monitor the extent to which outputs are FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) through a set of specially-designed metrics. It is part of a suite of technologies and standards being developed to standardise data collection and dissemination across the CGIAR network.
